Monte Baldo: The Mountain between Sky and Lake

Monte Baldo: The Mountain between Sky and Lake

Monte Baldo represents one of the most extraordinary natural treasures overlooking Lake Garda. Located on the eastern shore of the lake, this mountain range stretches for about 40 km between the provinces of Trento and Verona.

With its highest peak, Cima Valdritta, reaching 2,218 meters above sea level, Monte Baldo offers a natural spectacle without equal.

Known also as the "Garden of Europe" for its extraordinary biodiversity, this mountain represents a unique ecosystem where alpine and Mediterranean species coexist.

Its privileged position between the Po Valley and the Alpine arc, combined with its proximity to Lake Garda, has created a particular microclimate that favors an exceptionally varied flora and some endemic species that are not found anywhere else in the world.

How to Reach Monte Baldo

There are several ways to reach Monte Baldo, each suitable for different needs:

By Car

From Tremosine, the simplest route is to head towards Malcesine (about 35 km) and take the cable car from there. Alternatively, you can reach Limone sul Garda (about 5 km) and take a boat shuttle for a scenic lake crossing (€9 return). The cable car from the port is about a ten-minute walk.

Starting from just 80 meters above sea level, this modern facility transports visitors to the Tratto Spino station, located at an altitude of 1,780 meters. The route is divided into two sections, with the second featuring an innovative rotating cabin that offers a spectacular 360° panoramic view during the ascent.

The cable care is not only the fastest way to conquer the heights of the mountain but also provides a unique experience that allows you to admire, in just 15 minutes of travel, the incredible beauty of the Garda landscape, from the blue surface of the lake to the green alpine pastures.
